Okay ladies! We have just about a week and a half before the official start to the 2008 NFL season!

I hope this post will be helpful to some of you especially those of you who are new to fantasy football. Smiling

Match Up

On the league's homepage, there is a table on the right side of the screen that tells you the match ups for the next week. To see how your team is expected to do against your opponent, click on the "Match Up" link

After you click on that link, you should see your team side-by-side with your opponent's team.

Here, you can see how many points your team is projected to get and if you are projected to win or lose. (BTW, the teams in this picture are NOT from our league)

These are ONLY projections. Your players can do better or worse than their projected points so don't despair. Smiling

Checking Projected Points for All of Your Players and Changing Your Starters

If you want to check the projected points for your starters and bench players, click on your team name or go to the "My Team" link. You can see your whole team here. Christina has been very nice to let me use her team for this post.

To view their projected points, click on the "Projected Stats" tab. And it will will show you the projected stats for the whole season.

Click on the "Week 1" tab to see the projected stats for the first week. Note: You have to always click "Projected Stats" before clicking on any given data set you want (week 1, week 2, remaining games, etc.)

If you see that if any of your players are projected more points than whoever you have currently starting in that position, you can switch players by clicking on the blue button next to their name and dragging and dropping the name over the player you want to replace.

Once you are done dragging and dropping, you have to click the "Submit Changes" button or your line up won't be changed.

Now you can go back to the look at your match up to see how your team will do against your opponent.

If a player is projected ZERO pts it means he's not going to be playing that week for some reason (injury, suspension, etc.). You can click on the little yellow sticker near the player's name to see any announcements about him.

A little read star on the yellow sticker means an announcement made was made recently (within two days).

Tips Part II is going to show you how to check out free agents and how to add and drop players.

Smiling
