If you haven't noticed or logged into the league's homepage recently - we have a full league!!! 
I'm loving all of your team names!
I hope you guys also realize that our draft is exactly 2 WEEKS away! Our draft is now scheduled for Sun Aug 17 7:00pm CDT. If you know now that you will not be able to be at the draft, please make sure that your draft rankings are to your liking. You can use the default draft order or customize it to your own preferences. If you have any questions on how to do this, let us know. I'm sure the fantasy vets are willing to give advice. 
With two weeks to go, now is the time to do your research, pay attention to training camp stories, watch pre-season games, watch Sportscenter, watch NFL Network, etc.

I will say though that you don't have to do all this research stuff or be a hardcore football junkie to be successful at FF. Even if you do all the research and get all the stud players on your team before the season starts, your team can still majorly suck because players get hurt and other things can happen. A lot of your success depends on how you manage your team during the season - like making good trades, starting the right people, etc.
Remember, it's all about having some friendly competition and most of all - HAVING FUN! 
I know we all want to keep info that will give us an edge to ourselves but please feel free to create posts if you have any tidbits or news stories you want to share. For example, what the heck is gonna happen with Brett Favre? How crazy would it be if my Chicago Bears somehow got him?! OMG, that would be tiiiiight!

it, the Pack are our #1 rival and I just don't want him wearing purple.
I'm really excited and should be able to draft live. The man and I host our own Fantasy League with a bunch of friends and that draft is probably on the 23rd so we bought a draft guide book last night. I'm still trying to figure out my strategy as far as which positions I'm going to fill first. It's really changing now that most teams are doing the running back by committee.

1That's cool, GS! Do you have a draft party for your other league? A friend of ours in another league is doing FF for the first time so he wants us to have a draft party. LOL
2Yes, we've done it for two years and have pizza, snacks and beverages. It's a great time. Then for the Super Bowl we have a party just for our league and hand out the winnings. We only put $20 each into the pot but it's more about the competition between friends and having fun. We all just love football!
I get the draft sheets ready and make copies of the cheat sheats from our draft guide for those who don't buy one. I'm also in charge of entering all the teams in since I'm the commissioner.
